About the Festival ...

To promote, preserve, and perpetuate the heritage from the Winyah Bay area through the protection of its lands, waters and unique habitats.
To provide financial assistance to the Georgetown County Historical Society and Museum; specifically to enable the Museum to expand into a new facility to showcase its’ collection and portrayal of the hunting and fishing legacy of the Winyah Bay area.

In January 2007, the inaugural Winyah Bay Heritage Festival was staged in Georgetown County with much success. This was followed up in 2008 with an equally successful festival. The Winyah Bay Heritage Festival is a celebration of waterfowl decoys, hunting and fishing collectibles and conservation efforts that have been a part of the region’s way of life for more than 300 years

The Festival brings together wildlife artists, exhibitors and collectors from the southeast, as well as admiring hunters, fisherman and their families. The weekend of events takes place in various locations throughout the City of Georgetown. Indoor exhibits will feature collectable decoys, handcrafted duck and goose calls, original paintings, custom knives, custom wildlife jewelry, a host of educational and conservation exhibitors and featured artist and lecturers. Outdoor activities will include the SC State Duck Call Championship, retriever training demonstrations, fly fishing and fly tying demonstrations, children’s interactive shooting and fishing booths, children’s decoy and fish painting, Santee Gun Club guides’ storytelling and many other activities.

Join us for "Cattails & Cocktails", a community oriented Saturday night of fun, food, music and prizes at the National Guard Armory. “Fins & Feathers” will include door prizes, raffles and auctions. Tickets will be available in advance.
